Introduction to the Dynamic Youth Awards
Youth Scotland believes that quality youth work is about a process that supports young people to make informed choices about opportunities available to them, plan their involvement, enjoy a range of experiences and reflect on them. Dynamic Youth Awards build on these quality youth work foundations with the following key aspects, the Awards are:
- Peer Assessed: Young people agree, assess and award certificates as part of an Award Group.
- Externally Accredited: The Awards are externally accredited by ASDAN, the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network.
- Non-Prescriptive: The Awards complement existing good quality youth work practice providing a framework, not a programme.
- Encouraging & Supportive of Youth Participation: The process encourages young people to take increasing responsibility for their own future.
- Progressive: The Awards encourage continuing participation and recognition.
Youth Scotland is 'the network of youth clubs and groups in Scotland'. We are the largest non-uniformed voluntary youth organisation in Scotland.
Working in partnership with a network of Area Associations across Scotland, we offer those involved in youth work a range of information, training and support. Our main aim is to help youth workers provide safe and inspiring leisure, social and learning opportunities for young people aged 8 - 18.
